About Walking with Canines
When you can’t be there
Walking with Canines was established in September 2013. We offer dog walking, 4* home boarding and daycare, we are licenced with Hull city council, licence number 150792.
After working for 4 years in a doggy day care, rescue and training/rehabilation Centre, I had the pleasure working with many different breeds and temperaments and gained ample experience. However, I continue to educate myself to meet emotional, mental and physical needs based on your dog's breed. Understanding the dogs you're working with is vital for any dog walker and its important they're familiar with the breed they're handling, so don't be afraid to ask questions. I also have experience with dogs adopted from Europe, and I spent 2 weeks volunteering at a shelter in Romania in 2012, where I spent time grooming, feeding and assessing dogs waiting to come over and start their new lives. I spend much of my free time attending training classes with 2 of my own dogs and we enjoy attending working trial training days too. Putting Your Pet First
Socialisation, often misunderstood... this isn't about having lots of dogs running free and them having to deal with it. Socialisation is based around different sights, sounds, smells, feelings and so much more. Socialising with dogs is just a small portion of this as a whole. Although we have dogs off lead in the same space, it isn't about running around crashing into each other. Dogs should be able to share space and be calm and feel relaxed with some fair short bursts of play time in-between. We focus on this using long lines with new dogs initially, until they become aware of acceptable behaviour within the groups. A combination of sniffing, play, find it games, on and off lead fun is generally how our social groups are held. We use lots of tasty treats and the occasional tuggy toy for those that aren't foodies like me! We love building trust and a strong bond with our dogs, so they have faith we will make sure they're comfortable throughout the whole walk. We will use long lines where necessary with any new dogs to encourage them to make the right choices during play.

Responsible & Reliable
Our social walks are a minimum of 45 minutes from leaving the van to getting back in... do we speed walk for 5 miles? Nope... we provide a safe place to walk in our fully enclosed 2 acre field and engage with the dogs, get their minds working with some obedience, fun heelwork, games, scent and giving them the opportunity to exhibit their natural behaviours. Because our walks are steady, slow paced and fun, we're able to accommodate small dogs, young and old dogs on the same walks and everyone has a good time.
Home boarding and Day care
Your dogs home away from home
We are a Hull city council licenced 4* home boarder - licence number 150792
We offer a home from home service for your dogs while you're on holiday, having a family gathering or just want a weekend to yourself.
They live in our home as they would yours, they'll spend the day at work with us on our fully enclosed field, and then spend the evening enjoying a natural treat or sleeping on the sofa.
On a weekend we often visit woodland, the beach or go on a long country walk.
Prices start at £25 for 1 dog per 24 hour stay. We offer a free pick up and drop off service if you're local to us. We also offer day (£24) and half day (£18) boarding with a free pick up and drop off service throughout various postcodes. Please enquire for more information.
